Schedule Maintenance Pays Off

The Code Red virus recently wreaked worldwide havoc by taking advantage of an unpatched flaw in Microsoft’s Web (IIS) server. Fortunately, Synaxis clients using our Scheduled Maintenance service had this rectified and preventative measures put in place before the virus had a chance to take hold. The reason? Part of the Scheduled Maintenance service is to apply all necessary updates and patches to systems as soon as they are released, thereby avoiding threats such as Code Red.

Computer systems are like cars. No one would buy a car and drive it continuously without ever stopping to check the oil and water. Owners regularly service their vehicle to ensure it is running at peak performcance and to rectify problem areas. The same applies to computer systems. They need to be regularly serviced to ensure that they are functioning correctly and operating efficiently. Therefore businesses with five or more computers should carefully consider the use of our Scheduled Maintenance service.

Synaxis maintenance services can be provided as often as once a day, week or month, but usually at fixed, prearranged time. These visits take care of all routine maintenance of the network, administration of users, permissions and user support. While performing these tasks, Synaxis Engineers also attend to any non-urgent problems or user enquiries. Many clients find it reassuring to know that an engineer will be at their premises at a particular time each week or fortnight as they can ‘save up’ their niggling problems and questions for this time.

Synaxis IT provides Scheduled Maintenance services to many businesses and invariably, each business finds that after a period of using these services, their systems begin running smoother and they experience far fewer “crises situations”. Clients find that regular maintenance reduces the overall costs of running the network as small problems can be rectified before they become large.
