Fast Fractions

enter a fraction in a cell, like 3½, and found
that Excel automatically formats the fraction
as a date. There is a solution at hand. To
enter a fraction or mixed number you need
to:
Enter the first number (eg 3)
Press Spacebar
Then enter the fraction (eg ½)
To enter a simple fraction (like 2/3):Enter the number 0 (without the 0, Excel will again think that you are entering a date)
Press Spacebar
Then enter the fraction into the cell (eg 2/3) |
